Guests at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts will notice some new construction near Stormalong Bay. It appears that new cabanas are being built by the resorts’ expansive sand-bottomed pool area that features a small lazy river, a shallow area for children and a great water slide.
The folks over at Disney Food Blog captured some great photos that show the unmistakable shape of cabanas rising up in an area that used to be home to an open sandy area and ping pong table.
The new addition to the pool area hasn’t been officially announced by Disney. However, we can assume that the cabanas will require a reservation and will include several amenities. Cabanas are currently found at the Grand Floridian Resort and the Contemporary Resort, costing as much as $265 for a full-day rental that includes lounge chairs, couch, complimentary soda and water, and a dedicated cast member.
Out of all of the pool areas at Walt Disney World, Stormalong Bay might make the most sense for cabanas. The area could be described as a miniature water park that offers something to do for the entire family. Swimming and relaxing by the pool can be a great way to spend a day if you’re looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks.
Though we’re not sure if the cabanas will ever be available to non-resort guests, it’s worth reminding that Stormgalong Bay is exclusive to guests staying at the Yacht & Beach Club Resorts as of the date of this article.
