Toy Story Land will be introducing two new rides at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as well as a brand new entrance for Toy Story Mania. Due to the construction, Toy Story Mania has already seen increased waits and will go to a standby-only format for about a month from April 9, 2018 to May 7, 2018.
Toy Story Mania has three tracks in which guests can enjoy playing games with their favorite Toy Story characters. On our recent trip in January 2018, one track was closed as work was being performed on the new entrance and queue into the attraction from Toy Story Land. This resulted in massive standby lines and even an over 20-minute wait for the FastPass line.
As the construction progresses, it has been reported by Disney cast members that Toy Story Mania will shift to standby-only and will only have one track operating.
Currently, the entrance to Toy Story Mania is through Pixar Place. When Toy Story Land opens, the entrance will be on the opposite side of the building and the current area with the entrance is expected to turn into a backstage location.
