Beach Club Marketplace at Disney’s Beach Club Resort closes for refurbishment

The Beach Club Marketplace at Disney’s Beach Club Resort closed for refurbishment on August 23, 2020. The quick service and retail location will be remodeled in an effort to improve its overall flow and layout.

Disney has the following notice posted on their website:

Beach Club Marketplace at Disney’s Beach Club Resort will undergo a refurbishment beginning Aug. 23. During this closure, Guests will still be able to conveniently pick up beverages, snacks, gifts and more at other locations around Disney’s Beach Club Resort, including temporary offerings at the Solarium, located just outside the resort lobby.

WDWMagic user @WDWTraveler posted some great photos showing the shuttered Beach Club Marketplace and the temporary setup inside the Solarium. The chairs and furniture that were in the Solarium have been moved out in favor of drink refrigerators, snack shelves and some select merchandise.

A reimagined Beach Club Marketplace is a welcome change as the existing space had some clear challenges. The layout, which had guests checking out primarily in the center of the room and ordering food in the back corner, could produce congested walkways and some guest confusion.

Disney has not announced a reopening date at this time.
