It’s almost time to say goodbye to the building known as Innoventions West at Epcot. The overhaul of what’s currently known as Future World includes the demise of Club Cool, the Fountain View Starbucks and Innoventions West in its entirety.
New photos from @bioreconstruct show that demolition is well underway and the Fountain View Starbucks has already been removed.
Reports have indicated that the inside of Innoventions West has been completely stripped, leaving just the exterior walls standing. We are quickly approaching the point of no return for the building.
Epcot’s transition is bittersweet. While we’re excited to see new life brought to areas that have sat fairly stagnant for years, it comes at the cost of some of Epcot’s original buildings and features. We would have loved to see the original buildings revamped and renovated in order to preserve the history while also updating Epcot for modern audiences.
