A new sign announcing the TRON Lightcycle Power Run coaster has appeared in the Magic Kingdom. Seen along the tracks for the Walt Disney World Railroad, the sign states that TRON is “Now Programming” at the Magic Kingdom. Disney also announced that the Tomorrowland Speedway and Walt Disney World Railroad will temporarily close for construction on the new TRON coaster.
The TRON coaster will sit in Tomorrowland near Space Mountain, and is expected to open within the next few years.

If you’re unfamiliar with the TRON coaster project, the ride is one of the most popular attractions at Shanghai Disneyland. The ride allows guests to sit on a Lightcycle, racing on a short yet intense ride that will exhilarate even those who haven’t seen the movies.
Below is some on-ride footage from the coaster in Shanghai. The version coming to the Magic Kingdom is expected to be a nearly identical clone of what you see below.
This new coaster will offer guests a more thrilling ride when coming to the Magic Kingdom. With its large and colorful canopy (particularly at night), the ride will also completely alter the current look of Tomorrowland. As a result, don’t be surprised to see areas of Tomorrowland transforming (looking at you, Tomorrowland Speedway) to match the new aesthetic.
