Disneyland’s Hungry Bear Restaurant to Become Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree

Things are changing at Hungry Bear Restaurant at Disneyland Park. The quick service dining location will be renamed to the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, and will have a new menu inspired by regional BBQ dishes.

While the updated Hungry Bear restaurant will take on the theming of the Country Bears, it won’t be a character dining destination.

A menu and an opening date for the updated Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree haven’t been announced at this time. This news comes as Disney is making updates throughout Critter Country.

The decision to tie the Country Bears into the Hungry Bear restaurant is an interesting one. The old Country Bear Jamboree attraction was removed from Disneyland Park more than 20 years ago and replaced by The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. The timing of this news is also curious with D23 sitting ahead in August. Is there something more at work here? Or is Disney simply looking to connect more of its characters to existing locations?
