Disneyland’s Avatar Experience is Planned for Disney California Adventure (Or Maybe Not)

UPDATE: It appears someone misspoke or someone misheard. Disney has clarified that no announcement regarding the location of Avatar at Disneyland has been made.

Below is the clarification.

Meaning, while Avatar could go into Disney California Adventure in some capacity, Disney didn’t announce that today.

Original Story: Some new information has been revealed about the Avatar experience coming to Disneyland Resort. During a Walt Disney Imagineering Lunch & Learn at the IAAPA Expo, it was revealed that the Avatar addition (whatever it might be) will be at Disney California Adventure Park.

The news reported by @DrewDisneyDude is the first specific information Disney has revealed about the Avatar experience. The project was originally announced by Disney CEO Bob Iger in August 2023.

While Disney hasn’t given many details on the project, they have built some hype around the addition. At D23, Disney said the inclusion of Avatar will be “as amazing” as what’s found at Walt Disney World. Considering Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World has a large themed land with two attractions in Pandora – The World of Avatar, the Avatar experience isn’t expected to be just a meet and greet at Disneyland.

Disney has not announced any concrete plans for Avatar at Disneyland, and based on their comments about expenses, guests shouldn’t expect to see construction at Disney California Adventure anytime soon.
