The virtual queues at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure are ending. Both attractions will stop using the virtual line system at Walt Disney World beginning February 25, 2025.
Once the virtual queues are dropped, both Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom will utilize a traditional standby queue. Both rides will maintain their current Lightning Lane status without any changes.
This change effectively ends all virtual queues at Walt Disney World beginning February 25. It’s one less thing guests have to worry about during their vacation. Disney notes that the virtual system could return during peak crowds. It’s also almost a certainty that virtual queues will be utilized whenever new attractions first open.
In the case of Cosmic Rewind, this is a long overdue change. The virtual queue has often been available late into the day, and in many cases the interior queue sits empty. A virtual queue hasn’t been needed for quite some time. However, Cosmic Rewind’s queue isn’t particularly large and can spill outside into a makeshift area. That won’t be ideal during busy summer days.
Over at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the cooler temperatures have understandably softened interest. We’ll likely see demand pick up again in spring and as crowds grow, but Tiana’s Bayou Adventure benefits from having a large standby queue in place.
