We finally have an opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom! The rethemed attraction will officially open to the public on June 28, 2024. The opening date was announced (perhaps accidentally?) by Disney ahead of Disney Night on American Idol.
Previews are expected for cast members, annual passholders, and Disney Vacation Club members ahead of the June 28 opening. We expect those previews to begin extremely soon with the official opening date quickly approach.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is guaranteed to be a fun thrill ride because it maintains the track and drops from the old Splash Mountain. But, the rethemed ride has a high bar to clear because it’s replacing an iconic Disney attraction, and is the first ride themed to Princess and the Frog. Expectations are high. Will Disney meet those big expectations?
The opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure represents a significant shift in the direction of Frontierland at Magic Kingdom. Disney has teased additional changes are coming to Frontierland. Country Bear Jamboree is already being updated, and we believe the days are numbered for Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. There’s also rumors of a significant refurbishment for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
