Disney didn’t waste any time demolishing a large section of DinoLand USA ahead of the land’s transformation into the Tropical Americas at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The former home of TriceraTop Spin and Fossil Fun Games is now just flat dirt.
We have a great look at what used to be a piece of DinoLand USA thanks to friend of the site DC Baker. This area is expected to be where the new Encanto attraction will be built.
This first section of DinoLand USA closed in January 2025. It took roughly four months for everything to be demolished and removed. Barring any delays, Disney will now get to work leveling the ground and beginning to build Casita, the home of the family Madrigal.

Disney has said the Tropical Americas will open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2027.
