It’s Tough to be a Bug! Closing March 17 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Updated:

Disney has announced that the It’s Tough to be a Bug! attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close on March 17, 2025. The closure will allow for work to begin on Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, the new attraction that’s taking over inside the Tree of Life, before it opens in Winter 2025.

The 3D film It’s Tough to be a Bug! opened in 1998 and terrorized many unsuspecting guests over the years. The show used a variety of effects that brought bugs front and center in front of guests, which made some crying children flee for the exits.

The new Zootopia: Better Zoogether! show is likely a better fit for Animal Kingdom’s youngest guests, though it remains to be seen how well the new show stands up against the original.

Unfortunately, this marks the end of A Bug’s Life at Walt Disney World. It was a perfect fit at the center of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but Disney has decided it’s time for a change.
