Construction crews are continuing to work on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom ahead of its planned late 2024 opening. Disney has shared one quick glimpse inside the new attraction. Recently, we’ve seen a lot of changes to the ride’s exterior as the old Splash Mountain transforms into the new home of Tiana.
The always great @bioreconstruct captured some of the newest changes at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
First, here’s an overview of all of the new artificial landscaping added in front and to the top of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

Next, we can see just how dense the new artificial trees are out in front of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. There’s even some real trees nearby, which really helps sell the illusion. Disney is trying to make guests feel like they’re deep in the bayou.

Disney is seemingly trying to conceal some of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure from certain angles as guests approach the ride. We think this could work really nicely, but it remains to be seen how jarring the transition between the Frontierland theming and the bayou theming will feel.
The top of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has lost its mountain theming, but it has gained a lot of artificial flowers.

At the very least, we’re glad Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is trying to look different compared to Splash Mountain – at least on the outside. We think Tiana’s attraction needs to form its own identity to succeed, and the more it can distance itself from Splash Mountain the better.
