Work is underway to update Test Track at EPCOT! The new version of Test Track (which we’re labeling Test Track 3.0) aims to call on history from the old World of Motion attraction, and update a fan-favorite ride. While the majority of work will take place inside the ride building, workers have been spotted preparing to dismantle the large exterior canopy.
We can see what’s taking place at Test Track courtesy of DC Baker. There isn’t a ton of activity, but we can see what looks like early preparations to pull down the ugly (in our opinion) canopy structure.
Disney hasn’t revealed much about Test Track 3.0. That said, we have seen concept art that does confirm the canopy is going away, and the building will return to its old, sleek appearance.
Isn’t she lovely?
A reopening date for Test Track hasn’t been announced at this time. Initial guesses placed the closure lasting anywhere between 12 and 18 months, though that’s just an educated estimate. We’d expect (and hope) Disney will provide more details about the updated ride during the D23 Expo in August.
