When Disney World trips ruin the idea of planning other vacations

Updated:

Have you ever been on a Disney World vacation and you noticed you were planning your next Disney World vacation before your current trip was even completed? If you’re reading this article, you probably have. You’re among friends here.

Now, have you ever caught yourself talking about future vacations only to find your mind drifting back to Disney World rather than going to a new, or different destination? That’s where I, and I assume many other Disney fans, come in.

Disney World offers a literal world of activities and experiences all underneath the umbrella of Disney service. That idea of service is the big difference I stumble across when planning other trips and vacations. It’s difficult to venture too far outside of that bubble as I know what level of service (and that Disney will correct an error with flying colors if there is one) I’ll receive at Disney World. That’s a nice feeling of assurance when we’re talking about spending decent amounts of money for a vacation.

Of course, it’s important to try new things and new experiences. That’s one of the other reasons why venturing to a new vacation destination is so difficult. Disney World is an evolving destination. Unlike a traditional beach vacation where the beach is basically the same as you left it, Disney World is adding new attractions (such as Pandora’s Flight of Passage) and reasons (such as new, fun places to eat) to make each trip feel unique.

For instance, we recently took a trip in January of 2018 and September of 2017. Despite those two trips being close in relative proximity, they were two entirely different adventures. Our most recent trip featured the Aqua Seas Tour at Epcot, which was definitely a memorable add-on that transformed our entire stay. The September trip included our first visit to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Also a ton of fun.

Different resorts, different objectives, different restaurants. Disney World allows a choose-your-own adventure style of vacation, offering as much or as little familiarity as you’d like.
