Will a Coco ride eventually come to Disney World?

Updated:

Recently, we squashed a rumor suggesting a Coco ride would replace the Haunted Mansion at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Thankfully, that rumor wasn’t based in reality. However, it is still possible a Coco ride will eventually come to Disney World, though it may be in a different theme park.

Reports suggest that it’s possible a Coco overlay could be added to theย Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros at the Mexico Pavilion within Epcot’s World Showcase. Whether or not this project moves forward may depend on how Disney decides to handle other rumored projects around World Showcase, such as a potential ride being added to the United Kingdom Pavilion. It’s possible they’ll only move forward with one of the two attraction ideas.

The idea of a Coco overlay in the Mexico Pavilion makes a lot of sense, though it may be difficult envisioning how long lines would be handled within the space. Thematically, Coco and the Mexico Pavilion work perfectly. In fact, Disney has already added a Coco-themed kiosk to the Pavilion, though its been a bit underwhelming and hasn’t always been working correctly.

It sounds like Disney may have a few ideas on the table, but they’re not sure which direction they’d like to take at this time. Stay tuned.
