Review: Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival is a beautiful experience

The Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot is one of four festivals that take place at the theme park each year. Like Epcot’s other festivals, the Flower & Garden Festival is a celebration of unique food and beverage options around World Showcase. However, where the Flower & Garden Festival shines is in the beautiful way it transforms Epcot.

As you may have guessed by the name, the Flower & Garden Festival is a vibrant display of flowers, plants and topiaries. Future World and World Showcase are transformed with an incredible number of flowers and plants. This was the star of the show during our visit during the festival.

Let’s talk about those topiaries.

Iconic Disney characters are brought to life around Epcot through some incredibly creative topiaries. One of the best parts of our adventure through Epcot during the festival was walking around and checking out each one.

Beyond the topiaries, beautiful flower murals surround the primary water features near the Monorail line in Future World. These murals are breathtaking and make a Disney fan wish that they were a permanent feature in Epcot.

Other aspects of the Flower & Garden Festival we appreciated were the information displays near many of its flower arrangements, informing guests about the kinds of plants and the benefits of using certain plants back at home. A small butterfly house is a fun stop, particularly for children who are mesmerized by the swirling butterflies. Workshops (many do carry an additional fee) are available and offer guests a more hands-on approach to learning new things in gardening.

Music also plays a prominent role with concerts being held each day. The full concert calendar offers something for everyone over the course of the festival.

As with other festivals, there’s a wide variety of unique food and drink options to enjoy. There’s far too many selections to experience on one or even several visits. We thoroughly enjoyed that the Flower & Garden Festival had a large number of organic and plant-based food options. Not only does it fit within the theme of the festival, but it’s a welcome alternative for guests looking for something a bit healthier.

The Flower & Garden Festival carries many of the same features as other Epcot festivals, but its ability to stand out through bright and colorful floral displays make Epcot look like a shining gem that’s more than worth your time.
