Guests visiting World of Disney at Disney Springs on Sunday found an unexpected item. MagicBand+ bands were spotted at World of Disney selling for $29.99. The bands were apparently put out by mistake and Disney quickly removed them.
They also released the following comment:
Disney says a limited number of MagicBand+ bands were sold earlier today. They removed the bands from the store and are offering refunds.
MB+ features/in-park experiences are not live and are planned to launch later this year. Details (and a launch date) will be revealed later. pic.twitter.com/KlzdU7ASyK

Guests who did purchase the new MagicBand+ bands found they were unable to link them to their My Disney Experience account. None of the new MagicBand+ features, such as vibration and unique colors, were active. The bands were packaged with a charger and USB cord.
This looks like a simple mistake where the MagicBand+ bands were accidentally put out too early. However, it does show that Disney is getting closer to having the system ready to go as they’re getting inventory of the new bands. While it was nice to learn more about the bands before they released, we can’t help but worry the $29.99 price may have been an accident too.
