Walt Disney World Closing Its Theme Parks Due to Hurricane Ian

Walt Disney World is closing all of its theme parks September 28-29, 2022 due to Hurricane Ian. Disney Springs will also be closed on September 28, and is expected to be closed September 29 as well.

Other theme parks in the area, including Universal and SeaWorld, have announced similar closures.

Disney appears to be planning to reopen its theme parks on October 1, 2022. However, that is subject to change depending on intensity of the storm and any potential damage it may cause.

Previously, Disney announced that the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser would be cancelling voyages scheduled for 9/27 and 9/29. They also announced the closure of select resorts, Typhoon Lagoon, and more.

Our thoughts are with all the guests and cast members who are in the path of Hurricane Ian.
