Walkway Temporarily Closing Between Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Magic Kingdom

Disney is temporarily closing the walkway that connects Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort to Magic Kingdom. The path is expected to close February 13, 2023 and does not have a reopening date at this time.

The walkway will close due to ongoing refurbishment work on the rooms at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Disney has alerted guest that the path “may be closed” for dates stretching into Summer 2023 and even Fall 2023. However, it’s unclear just how long the route will stay closed.

The walkway, which opened in 2020, links Magic Kingdom with Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and the Transportation & Ticket Center. The path gives guests an alternative transportation method (their feet) instead of a boat or Monorail.

It’s a peaceful stroll around the coast of Seven Seas Lagoon that can take between 10 and 30 minutes (see our guide on how long the walk is between the resorts and Magic Kingdom) depending on your destination.
