Earlier this month, we discussed that the first steel supports for the TRON coaster at the Magic Kingdom were starting to be installed. The project could be seen rising up in an area behind the Tomorrowland Speedway just to the side of Space Mountain.
To celebrate the coaster starting to go vertical, Disney released a new video with an update on the project.
While there wasn’t any new information revealed, it’s nice to see some closer angles of the construction and coaster supports. Over 300 columns will be used to support the track by the time everything is completed.
Assuming the construction of the TRON coaster at the Magic Kingdom follows a similar build schedule to the one in Shanghai, the coaster track should be entirely installed before the ride building goes up around it and conceals it from view. This should offer some crazy views from within the Magic Kingdom and at the Contemporary Resort.
The TRON coaster is expected to open by 2021.
