Update on the Tomorrowland Speedway demolition and TRON coaster construction

Updated:

Things are moving along relatively quickly at the Magic Kingdom. A larger section of the Tomorrowland Speedway has been demolished and some concrete work can be seen at the TRON coaster construction site.

Thanks to the folks over at Blog Mickey, we can see that the Tomorrowland Speedway track has been demolished up to the bridge. It’s unclear how much more of the track will be removed, but we do know that the track will sit in a new configuration when the ride reopens. The adjusted route will make room for the addition of the TRON coaster.

Meanwhile, some new concrete can be seen where the new TRON coaster will reside. It’s not too clear whether this concrete is for the TRON coaster itself or apart of the work to prepare the overall area for construction.
