Transportation systems returning to full capacity at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World’s transportation systems are starting to return to normal operation. As Walt Disney World increases capacity at its theme parks, Disney is removing physical distancing guidelines to accommodate the larger crowds.

We’ve already seen several distancing measures dropped on Disney transportation. The Disney Skyliner is now seating multiple parties in each cabin, matching their operation from before the shutdown. The Magic Kingdom Ferry Boats removed their distancing markers. Dividers separating guests are gradually being removed from the Monorails.

Disney’s bus system has been stretched extremely thin due to distancing guidelines and an ongoing shortage of bus drivers. Allowing more guests on each bus should help this problem, but buses will likely remain the biggest question mark due to labor issues.

Hopefully these changes mean the Epcot Monorail loop will reopen soon. Overall, we expect Walt Disney World’s transportation systems will be operating at full capacity in the very near future.
