Tower of Terror will operate under reduced capacity during 2019 refurbishment

The iconic Tower of Terror located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will operate under reduced capacity in spring and summer 2019 due to an extensive refurbishment project.

The project will take place in phases with work being performed on one side of the Tower of Terror while guests are still able to ride on the other. The common areas are expected to be worked on during the overnight shift while the park is closed.

FastPass availability will be greatly reduced while the ride operates at half capacity.

The overall scope of the project isn’t expected to make any major changes, but instead will get the Tower of Terror and all of the ride’s effects in top condition ahead of the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in late fall. It’s great to see what might be Hollywood Studios’ most memorable and iconic attraction getting the attention it deserves.
