The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser FAQ says passengers won’t really go to space, there isn’t a pool

Disney has released a tidal wave of new information on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. In addition to revealing the steep prices guests will pay and debuting the first commercial, Disney also put out a series of frequently asked questions.

This FAQ is mostly full of useful information guests may need before this new experience. The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser isn’t a traditional hotel and blends elements of a cruise ship and roleplaying into the two-night stay.

But, the FAQ also has some info we can’t help but poke fun at.

Q. Does Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser really take passengers into space?

A. While your Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyage is not an actual trip into space, passengers will experience the sensation of voyaging on a starcruiser through space in a galaxy far, far away—just like you have seen in Star Wars movies and shows.

Sadly, guests will not be living out their Jeff Bezos fantasy. The fact Disney has to even answer this question says a lot. Then again, the big price to stay on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser may have some guests expecting an actual trip to space.

Q. Does Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser have a swimming pool?

A. No. While your Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyage is packed with exciting activities, the starcruiser is not equipped with a swimming pool.

This is a completely reasonable question. Some guests may want to kick back and relax in “space” while the Star Wars fans in their family run off on an adventure. They can, but they won’t be doing it poolside. We honestly wouldn’t recommend booking a stay if you don’t plan to participate in the activities.

Q. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser for more or less than 2 nights?

A. No. All Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyages are 2 nights—each 2-night itinerary is specifically designed with immersive activities and unique experiences that bring your Star Wars story to life, all woven together into a continuous narrative that progresses throughout your adventure.

Disney is committing to the cruise-style itineraries for guests at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. That may be an adjustment for usual Walt Disney World guests who book arrivals and departures as they please.

Star Wars Hotel Dining

Q. Will I be seated with other parties in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room during my Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyage?

A. You are likely to be seated at a table with other Guests in the Crown of Corellia Dining Room. If you add on the Captain’s Table experience, you will be seated with other Guests.

As with trips on Disney Cruise Line, there’s a decent chance you’ll be eating dinner on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser with other guests. The dining room is relatively small and guests will be asked to share tables. They’ll also have to put in their request for first or second dinner seating, which sounds comparable to main and second seating on Disney Cruise Line.

Star Wars Hotel Cabin

Q. Does my Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser cabin or suite have a view?

A. Yes. Every one of the 100 well-appointed passenger cabins and suites on the starcruiser has at least one window with a view of space in a galaxy far, far away.

Technically, all of the 100 cabins (rooms) have a view. However, that view will be of a screen showing outer space and not a traditional window. It’ll be interesting to see how realistic the “views” are and whether or not the cabins feel claustrophobic.

One other worthwhile item we noticed:

Only registered Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Guests are permitted to visit the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Terminal or board the starcruiser.

Hoping to pop into the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and look around the lobby? No such luck. The hotel is exclusively reserved for registered guests. We imagine cast members will be at the entrance checking guest reservations and turning away guests wanting to look around.

More of our questions will be answered when Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opens in Spring 2022.
