There’s a fun new development regarding the construction for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios. The iconic Millennium Falcon is now being built just outside the ride that will star the legendary ship.
The ride, titled Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, will give guests an opportunity to sit in the cockpit and navigate through an interactive story. It seems fitting that the ship will be parked just outside the attraction as guests prepare for their journey.

Based on the aerial photos, it looks like the steel framing is mostly in place. That should mean that the more themed pieces for the ship should start being installed in the very near future.
If you’re curious what the area will look like once it’s completed, check out these photos below from Disneyland.
Disneyland’s version of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be slightly different than the one going into Hollywood Studios, but it’s close enough to make a strong comparison. The California project is also ahead of the construction down in Florida due to Disneyland having an earlier anticipated opening date (summer 2019 versus fall 2019).
Looks pretty amazing to us. We can’t wait to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in the near future.
