The Cake Bake Shop Delayed at Disney’s BoardWalk Until 2024

The opening of The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk has officially been delayed. The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers announced on social media that the opening is now planned for early 2024.

Below is the official announcement as seen on Instagram:

Originally, the new dining location, which is replacing the old ESPN Club, was supposed to open in 2023. It became more and more obvious that target wasn’t going to be hit. The building has been completely gutted, and guests can see that the space is nothing more than a steel skeleton at this time.

Construction has moved extremely slow on The Cake Bake Shop’s transformation. The new dining space was first announced in August 2022, and it still looks like it is a long way from opening.

We’ve only seen a few employees working on The Cake Bake Shop at any given time, and considering the building is just framing at this time, construction may have to go into overdrive to meet the new early 2024 opening window.
