Splash Mountain will soon be sponsored by Ziploc

Updated:

Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom will soon officially be sponsored by Ziploc. The sponsorship is supposed to go into place in August 2018.

While that headline may sound like a bit of a joke, it’s what’s being reported by the very reliable WDWMagic.com. The connection doesn’t make any sense thematically, but it does have a logical tie-in as many Disney World guests use Ziploc bags to keep their phones and other personal items dry while enjoying water rides like the Splash Mountain.

Ziploc appears to be making a big push into the public eye at Disney World. In addition to their new Splash Mountain sponsorship, they are also the new sponsor ofย Epcot’s Kidcot.

Will guests respond positively to the change? That remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to see if Disney – or Ziploc – receive any of the anti-plastic feedback that has been steadily growing in the United States.
