A little over a week ago, Disney started tearing down the shade tarps that covered the center area of Future World at Epcot. Now, we can see that the entire structure has been removed as Disney begins to transform this section of Future World into World Celebration.
The shade structure and the old Pin Central shop have been completely removed. This leaves a large, empty chunk of land that will soon be developed into green space, a new fountain, new walkways and more.
The far right of the image above shows that very little has changed with the Electric Umbrella and its outdoor seating area since it closed.
Shifting the view slightly, we can also see that the remaining portion of Innoventions West is still standing.

Meanwhile, MouseGear is seeing quite a bit of demolition work itself.
Epcot’s transformation has resulted in a sea of construction walls, some long walks around Future World and some questions about what’s to come. It’s too early to form any kind of opinions on all of the changes, so for now guests will have to enter Epcot with lowered expectations as the park takes on a new identity.
