Scrims removed from Magic Kingdom’s Main Street USA train station

The refurbishment of the Magic Kingdom’s Main Street USA train station appears to be complete. The entire station has been under scrim for the bulk of 2021, but it has been gradually coming down over the past few weeks.

Now, all of the scrims have been removed and the Main Street USA train station is looking better than ever.

A set of Disney cloaking devices (bushes on wheels used to hide things from guests) are all that remain at the front of the station. The other side of the train station is uncovered and used for character appearances.

The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed since late 2018 due to construction on TRON Lightcycle Run. Guests haven’t been able to circle the Magic Kingdom in roughly three years.

A reopening date for the Walt Disney World Railroad hasn’t been announced. It would’ve been great to see this iconic attraction reopen for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary on October 1, 2021, but that seems unlikely. It’s possible the train won’t resume running until the construction of TRON Lightcycle Run is nearly complete.
