Disney has finally announced an official opening date for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot. The new attraction within the France Pavilion in World Showcase will open October 1, 2021. The new crepe restaurant will also open on October 1.
The opening date coincides with the beginning of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration.

The October 1, 2021 opening date is fairly surprising. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure has reportedly been completed and tested. Cast members have reportedly trained on the attraction, which suggests everything is ready for an earlier opening. A Spring 2021 opening window seemed like a certainty.
The decision to delay Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure could be a marketing decision. With other projects delayed at Walt Disney World (TRON Lightcycle Run, for example), Disney will look to Remy to be one of the starring additions for the 50th anniversary.
It’s also possible Disney is playing it safe and avoiding opening a new attraction that will generate crowds until more vaccines have rolled out. While competitors are planning to open new attractions this summer (VelociCoaster at Universal), Disney may want to monitor how those openings go and adjust their plans accordingly.
