Oga’s Cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge named one of the Best Bars in America

Updated:

Oga’s Cantina is one of the true highlights of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, providing guests unique drinks in a fun and highly-themed environment. Outside of the Rise of the Resistance attraction, we believe Oga’s Cantina is the most authentic Star Wars experience you can find within the land. Esquire appears to have a similar opinion as they’ve recently named Oga’s Cantina in their list of the 27 Best Bars in America.

Esquire’s list aimed to find unique locations you can’t wait to come back and experience again. Oga’s Cantina, specifically the location at Walt Disney World, cracked the list because it fulfills a fantasy many have had ever since Star Wars first premiered.

Via Esquire:

For many, the first memory of a bar is likely Episode IVโ€™s cantina sceneโ€”who didnโ€™t want to hang out there? That would explain the constant lines outside Ogaโ€™s Cantina, a part of the Star Wars theme park, Galaxyโ€™s Edge. But it is worth the wait to have that protoโ€“bar fantasy fulfilled. There are smoking drinks in neon colors, a starship pilot turned DJ, andโ€”who knows?โ€”Han Solo might just slide in next to you.

The crazy drinks may be the focal point of Oga’s Cantina – try the Fuzzy Tauntaun and wait for your mouth to go numb – but it’s the atmosphere that’s just about perfect. Although the physical space is a bit on the small side, stepping up to the illuminated bar amidst the familiar songs spun by DJ Rex feels like a straight-from-the-movie experience. The cast members at the bar fall perfectly into character, warning guests about crazy concoctions while dishing out just the right amount of attitude.

The lone cons are the aforementioned small size, which makes securing a reservation a bit tricky, and the high prices that are the norm for Walt Disney World. Still, we haven’t let those points detract from making us repeat visitors.

We’re looking forward to our next opportunity to surround ourselves in the Star Wars atmosphere and drink a bubbling, fizzy and unnaturally colored beverage.
