Taking a Minnie Van around Disney World just got a little bit more complicated. Previously, guests could take a Minnie Van around any location in Disney World for a flat rate of $20. That price later grew to $25 per trip. Now, according to WDWNT.com, the pricing for a Minnie Van has changed to a flat rate of $15 plus a charge of $2.75 per mile.
Summarized, trips going roughly 3.5 miles or further will cost more than they did under the old $25 flat rate. The shortest of trips, those under 3.5 miles, will be about the same price or cheaper.
For example, taking a Minnie Van from Wilderness Lodge Resort to Hollywood Studios is right around a six-mile trip. Depending on the exact route, the trip will now cost about $31.50 instead of the old $25. A trip from the Contemporary Resort to Animal Kingdom comes in around $40.
Minnie Vans have proven to be an extremely popular form of transportation around Disney World even as the pricing has increased. With room for up to six guests and the option for two car seats, Minnie Vans are able to take guests directly between resorts and around Disney World property conveniently and comfortably. Driven by a Disney cast member, the rides carry a premium for a clean and friendly ride.
Disney has also rolled out expanded options for the Minnie Vans, taking guests to and from Orlando International Airport. These airport trips cost a reported $150, but it’s unclear if they will also receive a version of the new pricing model. A new rumored route would also take guests to Port Canaveral for trips on Disney Cruise Line.
