The new TRON coaster at the Magic Kingdom is really starting to take shape. About a week after the first section of track was installed, guests have spotted that several more pieces are now in place.
In fact, quite a bit of the TRON coaster track has been installed. PlaneCrazy1978 captured some great photos of the progress while taking a spin on the PeopleMover.
The quick progress on the track installation might seem surprising, but it’s fairly typical for roller coasters to go up this quickly when they reach this stage. You can think of the coaster supports and track pieces as one large kit that’s being assembled. It’s important to remember how long it took Disney to prepare the area for construction (about a year) and that they’ll still need to build the entire building around the track before the coaster will open by 2021.
Still, it’s a lot of fun to see how this is developing just off to the side of Space Mountain.
