Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is speeding ahead to its scheduled opening in Summer 2022. Epcot’s newest attraction, and first roller coaster, is taking shape inside the old Universe of Energy building. New theming and metal panels have been added in recent weeks, giving guests an early preview of Walt Disney World’s first Marvel ride.
Taking a ride on the Epcot Monorail loop offers a nice view of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Over the construction walls we can see how the main entrance has evolved.

The emblem of the Nova Corps, which looks purple here but is really an iridescent color, has been installed. Metal panels have also been added to the pavilion.
A sharp eye will spot that tap points have already been installed outside the entrance.

The front of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is really taking shape. But, we’re still waiting for the Xandarian ship to be installed. Disney previewed what this will look like in their concept art.
Work is also moving ahead inside this new attraction. Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle announced that test rides were already underway. Vahle says that the finishing touches are being added to the coaster.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open in Summer 2022, but Disney has not announced a specific opening date.
