MagicBand Slap Bracelets to debut November 12

There’s about to be a brand new kind of MagicBand for guests to wear at Walt Disney World. MagicBand Slap Bracelets have been revealed by shopDisney as a new product line beginning November 12, 2019.

The shopDisney store announced the new product line in their “Coming Soon” section. No other details such as price or how many designs will be initially offered were revealed. The only image displayed showed two unique designs, but we imagine there will be a large variety of design options.

This is a brilliant idea by Disney. The MagicBand “pucks” – or the little discs with Mickey’s head that make the magic happen – can already be removed from the newer MagicBands and swapped into a different wristband to create some unique designs. Guests have already created necklaces, key chains and other items with the discs to add a bit of flair to their MagicBands. It only makes sense for Disney to offer more official variations of their MagicBands.

So, why slap bracelets?

The answer is twofold. The first is the obvious play on nostalgia and the fact fashion from the 80s and 90s is just as popular as ever. The other is about function. The current MagicBands can be a bit tricky to secure and it always feels like they are a bit too tight or a bit too loose. A slap bracelet makes it a breeze (or a slap) to put on your MagicBand and be out the door without fiddling around with any snaps.

We’ll highlight the initial MagicBand Slap Bracelet designs as soon as they are released.
