Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, provided a quick update on Genie+ during the 2022 Bank of America Securities Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference.
D’Amaro first said Genie+ is doing “phenomenally well” and is doing better than Disney had anticipated. D’Amaro then mentioned that the majority of guests who purchase Genie+ plan to buy it again.
“70% of guests who purchase Genie+ say they will use it again next time.”
For reference, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said in August that about 50% of guests are purchasing Genie+.
Online feedback about Genie+ has been mixed at best, but Disney appears to have strong data supporting the service. Even though the premium line-skipping service has been called underwhelming and complicated, most guests plan to buy it again.
Is this a testament to Genie+ being a positive experience? Or does this say more about the lack of capacity at the parks making the standby line a painful option?
