A guest at Walt Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon water park was flown to the hospital after suffering an injury on the Miss Adventure Falls tube ride. WFTV9 reports that the guest was injured when his arm got stuck in one of the ride’s conveyor belts.
Thankfully, the injuries are not life-threatening.
Miss Adventure Falls is a family tube ride where guests begin their journey by riding a large conveyor belt to the top of the ride. You can see the conveyor belt portion of the ride in the video below between 0:20 and 1:20.
Details on the injury are limited at this time. Based on footage of the ride, the guest must have had their arm outside of the raft in order for the injury to take place, but it’s still not clear how the injury actually occurred.
Disney released the following statement on the incident:
“A guest’s arm was injured while on the Miss Adventure Falls water attraction at Typhoon Lagoon. The attraction is currently closed while we review the incident. Right now, our care and concern is with the guest and his family.”
