Hoping to snag some opening day merchandise for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind? Disney has announced several opening day shopping guidelines, including that all Cosmic Rewind merchandise will be available in Creations Shop in addition to the attraction’s shop, Treasures of Xandar.
Shoppers should be aware of the following on May 27 and for the foreseeable future:
- The Treasures of Xandar store will not be open at park opening. The store is expected to open later in the day.
- All items from the Treasures of Xandar store will also be available in Creations Shop.
- There will be a purchase limit of two items per person.
Disney’s decision to spread out Cosmic Rewind’s merchandise to a second location is a welcome one. The Treasures of Xandar shop isn’t very large and won’t be able to accommodate enormous crowds. By comparison, Creations Shop is a big space and is set up to handle a lot of guests at once.
The plan to limit purchases to two items per guest is also good to see, but we question if it will be enforced. Previously, Disney has enacted purchase limits only to allow guests to buy dozens (or more) items for reselling purposes. Remember when guests bought insane amounts of Splash Mountain merch?
