Gondola car arrives for testing at Hollywood Studios station

As work continues to progress on the Disney Skyliner transportation system around Disney World, the first gondola car has arrived for testing at Hollywood Studios. As seen on Blog Mickey, the wrapped car can be seen in the station just outside of Hollywood Studios.

Though the actual cables haven’t been installed for the gondola system yet, the car can be used for other testing within the station. Specifically, testing to determine clearance and spacing can be done in the station with an actual car in place.

When completed, the Disney Skyliner system will connect several resorts and two theme parks. Below is a map outlining the gondola route that will connect Epcot, Hollywood Studios, the new Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation Resort and the Pop Century Resort together.

An official opening date hasn’t been announced for the Disney Skyliner.
