First Look at a Set Inside Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Disney has shared the first look inside Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! During Disney 100: A Century of Dreams on 20/20, Disney gave a brief peek inside the attraction’s transformation from Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

It’s unclear whether the images show the inside of Disneyland’s or Walt Disney World’s version of the ride. The glimpse inside was brief, but what it showed gives us plenty to talk about. Screenshots below.

Overall, the few images show what appears to be a very detailed setting that seems to favor a more realistic style versus the more whimsical style from the old Splash Mountain. This scene looks like it has depth, and even gives us a bit of a Pirates of the Caribbean vibe. That’s a good thing!

While we can’t help but make some comparisons to Shrek’s Swamp, we appreciate this first look. We would’ve loved to see some animatronics or more than just this one set, but we’re happy to see work is progressing inside despite lots of construction work remaining outside.

Ultimately, the finished Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be judged harshly becomes it’s replacing an iconic Disney attraction. Disney has set a very high bar with their marketing and decisions surrounding the project, so here’s hoping it lives up to guests’ expectations when it opens at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom in 2024.
