Guests staying near Epcot heard some familiar music last night. The soundtrack from Epcot Forever, the most recent nighttime spectacular at Epcot, could be heard playing faintly in the park late at night.
If you listen very, very carefully (and crank the volume) to the video below, you can hear Epcot Forever’s soundtrack quietly playing. It sounds like the “Veggie, Veggie, Fruit, Fruit” portion to us!
So I thought I was going crazy when I thought I heard Epcot area music while walking around the Caribbean Beach resort, but nope. Apparently they’re testing Epcot Forever tonight. No fireworks, so I wonder if they’re using the music to test the HarmonioUS barges? pic.twitter.com/ZFdjE3edA1

Does this mean Disney is preparing for Epcot Forever to return in the near future?
Rumor have suggested Epcot Forever will be Epcot’s nighttime spectacular when fireworks initially resume. Disney has not confirmed these reports, but their late-night testing supports that theory.
It is possible Disney is just using the old Epcot Forever music while testing show equipment for Harmonious, but that seems unlikely. Disney has had no issue testing Harmonious features directly in front of guests, which makes us assume they’d have no issue testing the show’s music well before it debuts.
Originally, plans called for Epcot Forever to bridge the gap between the closed IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth show and the new Harmonious show. Epcot Forever would run for roughly a year before Harmonious took over. Walt Disney World’s closure and delayed timelines threw a wrench in those original plans.
As Walt Disney World reopened, rumors suggested Epcot Forever would come back as Harmonious was bumped down the calendar. A likely scenario sees Epcot Forever playing in Summer 2021 when shows initially return before Harmonious debuts in Fall 2021.
Stay tuned. We believe this is the first of many steps that will see fireworks shows return to Walt Disney World.
