The delay for Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular on the Disney Wish has been extended. Guests booked up to and including the four-night voyage departing Port Canaveral on August 15 have been notified the show will not be presented during their sailing.
Below is an excerpt from Disney Cruise Line’s notification to impacted Disney Wish guests.
While we had planned to offer Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular as part of our entertainment lineup, the show is still in rehearsals and will not be available during your sailing. Disney Seas the Adventure and The Little Mermaid, as well as other special entertainment, will be available in The Walt Disney Theatre.
Disney Cruise Line sent out a similar message for guests on the maiden voyage. Now, they’ve extended the note about Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular through mid-August.
While this news is certainly disappointing for guests on the Disney Wish, it’s great to see the two new shows to Disney Cruise Line will still be performed. Both Disney Seas the Adventure and The Little Mermaid, which are unique to the Disney Wish, will be performed in the Walt Disney Theatre.
It’s unclear what’s driving the significant delay for Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular. Reports have suggested that rehearsal schedules were thrown off due to cast member quarantine, but that hasn’t been officially confirmed. It’s also possible Disney placed all of their focus on the newest shows with the time they had.
Guests should be aware that the status of Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular is subject to change, and could debut before or after any announced dates.
