Disney World Theme Park Reservation Calendar Extended into 2024

The Walt Disney World Theme Park Reservation Calendar has been extended once again. The availability calendar now lists dates into January 2024, displaying almost two full years of dates for guests.

Below we can see January 2024 on the calendar. Currently, this is as far as the theme park reservation calendar goes.

Does the calendar’s continued extensions indicate the system is here to stay?

Disney executives have said multiple times that the theme park reservation system is here to stay. The system allows for Disney to plan and manage their staffing levels depending on the anticipated crowds. Instead of guessing, Disney can see exactly how many guests will be at a park on a given day. That’s great from an operational view, but it’s not great for guests.

Unfortunately, the theme park reservation system zaps the spontaneity out of a Walt Disney World vacation. The current park hopper limitations (no hopping until 2pm) make things more rigid, which isn’t quite as fun. We hope Disney will relax the park hopping rules in the near future.
