The Walt Disney Company held its Q1 2025 Earnings Call today, and one of the topics that was discussed was the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. This pass, which gives theme park guests one-time access to every Lightning Lane attraction in a single park, is Disneyland’s and Walt Disney World’s premium line-skipping option.
While Lightning Lane Premier has been live since October 2024, Disney is apparently still learning how to use it. Disney CFO Hugh Johnston spoke about the premier line-skipping service during the call.
The Lightning Lane Premier pass initially started as an option for deluxe resort guests to purchase, but has since expanded to be available to all guests. The pass has sold out on select days, though it sounds like Disney is still working out the best pricing and availability to make the most out of Lightning Lane Premier pass.
The next logical step for Lightning Lane Premier pass is to create a multi-park option that allows guests to skip the line at more than just one park. Currently, Lightning Lane Premier pass allows a guest to skip the line at every Lightning Lane attraction in a single park. We think a multi-park version with a higher price is the next likely step.
However, Disney won’t want to cannibalize its VIP tour program. With that in mind, a multi-park Lightning Lane Premier pass would likely have some limitations to make it not as worthwhile as the more expensive VIP tours.
