Disney shuts down rumors about the Country Bear Jamboree being closed for a Toy Story show

Date:

The folks at Disney are on an absolute roll this week. Not long after they effectively dispelled a rumor that said the Enchanted Tiki Room would be replaced by Moana, Disney has shut down another controversial rumor. This time the Disney Parks Blog has some great news about the Country Bear Jamboree.

Previously, the same website that reported the incorrect Tiki Room story pushed out a rumor stating that the Country Bear Jamboree would be replaced by a new Toy Story Show. This created some very unhappy Disney fans due to the rich history the show has and the fact Walt Disney himself personally loved the characters.

Thankfully, the Disney Parks Blog ended this wild week with another memorable post.

“Our Imagineers are always looking at ways to bring more magic to our guests through experiences and stories they know, but contrary to rumors, Country Bear Jamboree is not going into hibernation any time soon. In fact, weโ€™re looking forward to celebrating its 50th anniversary on Oct. 1, 2021, with Henry, the Five Bear Rugs and the rest of the gang.”

While Disney’s post about the Enchanted Tiki Room may leave the door open to future additions to the show (the birds aren’t going anywhere), this seems like a straight denial to the rumor that said the Country Bears were history. Both shows could see a possible overlay in the future, but the actual characters themselves aren’t being removed despite all of the rumors.

This has been a noteworthy week in Disney Parks Blog history. It’s extremely rare for Disney to address rumors in such a blunt, public manner. Both rumors created a large outcry against Disney, so it’s possible the company wanted to put an end to the social media craziness that was being stirred up by a website that is notorious for embellishing.

Regardless, the Tiki Birds and the Country Bears are safe. Changes may come to the attractions they’re in, but Disney fans can relax knowing that some original characters are safe at Walt Disney World.
