Walt Disney World will have a dedicated train station in the near future! Brightline and Disney have announced that the high-speed rail service will connect to Walt Disney World through a new station at Disney Springs. Once completed, Walt Disney World will be linked via rail to Orlando International Airport and south Florida.
Bay News 9 issued the statement from Brightline on the Disney Springs station.
“The design concept for the proposed station at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World includes a lobby on the ground level, passenger facilities and an upper-level train platform. The proposed location would be in close proximity to Walt Disney World Resort’s four theme parks, two water parks, and more than 25 hotels.”
The project is expected to take between two and three years before it can begin welcoming guests. Currently, Brightline is building a station at the new Terminal C at Orlando International Airport that’s expected to be completed in 2022.
Walt Disney World being connected by train to Orlando International Airport opens up a series of new possibilities. Will Disney abandon the current Magical Express shuttle service from the airport in favor of having guests arrive by train?
