Brief bursts of fireworks added to Cinderella Castle holiday projections

Updated:

Walt Disney World is adding a bit of fireworks magic to the Magic Kingdom this holiday season. A brief burst of low-level fireworks will accompany the holiday projections as they transition on Cinderella Castle.

The “pyrotechnic pixie dust” wasn’t announced and was a special surprise for guests.

The bursts of fireworks are not a show and simply add a bit of “pop” when the scenes change. Guests should expect to see them each night through the remainder of the holiday season.

These rooftop fireworks are not related to the fireworks testing that took place at the Magic Kingdom earlier this month. Those tests used much larger shells that were fired from the launch site just outside the Magic Kingdom. It’s believed Disney has used the lull in regular nighttime fireworks to upgrade some of their launch equipment and technology.
