Construction is continuing to progress on TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom. It’s been a bit since we’ve taken a look at the TRON coaster, so let’s see how things are shaping up.
Work has been focused on the ride’s signature exterior canopy. Aerial pictures show blue netting that has been added to the frame of the canopy.

We can also see where the track from the Walt Disney World Railroad should pass beneath TRON Lightcycle Run.

Another angle offers a great comparison between Space Mountain and the new TRON coaster. Compare Space Mountain’s design to the large ride building that’s hard to miss for TRON. They really don’t build ride buildings like they used to, do they?

TRON Lightcycle Run is currently expected to open in 2022. Disney has not announced a specific date, but we imagine it’ll be in the first half of the year to play off of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary occurring in October 2021.
