The Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed at the Magic Kingdom since late 2018 for the construction of TRON Lightcycle Run. Once TRON’s exterior construction is completed, the railroad will reopen and pass beneath TRON’s signature canopy.
It’s been a bit difficult to picture how the railroad will travel through TRON Lightcycle Run’s footprint. Thankfully, the always awesome @bioreconstruct has some photos that show the train’s tunnel and where it sits near guest walkways.

The Walt Disney World Railroad will pass through a new tunnel beneath the canopy of TRON Lightcycle Run. Guests will walk to the side and then over the tunnel to get inside the attraction.
Here’s another look at the tunnel’s concrete walls.

For reference, compare the pictures above with TRON’s concept art. We can see the Walt Disney World Railroad on the left of the photo and the track exiting the right side of the canopy.
It’s unclear when TRON Lightcycle Run will finally open. The attraction was originally pitched as an addition to the Magic Kingdom for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary. Now, most estimates suggest TRON will open either in late 2022 or in early 2023.
