A before and after look at TRON Lightcycle Run from inside the Magic Kingdom

Updated:

Most of our TRON Lightcycle Run construction updates at the Magic Kingdom have taken place high in the sky above Walt Disney World. Now that the theme parks are reopening, we can get a better look at the TRON coaster and how it has completely changed the views from inside the Magic Kingdom.

Courtesy of @WDWTraveler, here’s a great look at the TRON coaster ride building as seen from the walkway near The Barnstormer attraction in Storybook Circus.

TRON coaster construction at the Magic Kingdom

Having trouble remembering what everything used to look like? Google can take us back to 2016 and show us the area long before the TRON coaster was announced.

Currently, the ride building dominates the views from the Storybook Circus area and is impossible to miss. The building’s color scheme is notably different from the usual Sky Blue or Go Away Green colors Disney famously uses. A canopy will block some of the ride building from certain perspectives in Tomorrowland, but that won’t impact what guests see here.

Disney could decide to update their landscaping along Storybook Circus and the Walt Disney World Railroad tracks in an attempt to hide some of the TRON coaster. Well-placed trees and bushes near guest walkways could go a long way in shielding the ride building, or at least making it a bit less obvious.

TRON Lightcycle Run is scheduled to open at the Magic Kingdom in 2021, but that’s always subject to change.
